Obama/O'Reilly vs. McCain

Obama will be on the O'Reilly Factor on Thursday, stealing attention from McCain.

Pitting FOX's avarice against its ideology: priceless.

And in other news...

Affluence, VA - Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain today campaigned under sunny skies in the heavily Republican suburb of Affluence, VA.

The Mayor of Affluence, I.B. Settinpurdy, greeted McCain at the Affluence train station and remarked: "It's a beautiful day for campaigning, isn't it, Senator?" to which McCain responded:

"Well, let me tell you, it wasn't a beautiful day the day I was captured in Vietnam. Did you know I was a POW?"
McCain spent the next hour giving detailed accounts of his captivity to a clearly restless Mayor Settinpurdy, causing him to miss a scheduled speech before the local Chamber of Commerce.

Later the same day, Sen. McCain was spotted in downtown Affluence frightening small children and inviting young women to "touch my scar."

Reality check requested: "I've been warned."

So, I merrily fired up MyDD this morning, and was met with an intimidating message from an unnamed admin, telling me that one of my comments had been deleted for violating some unnamed aspect of MyDD policy, and informing me that "I've been warned."

Now, I'll admit that I've pushed the envelope on occasion, though no more than many, but this was an innocuous, humorous comment in the middle of an innocuous, humorous thread. Frankly, I don't get it.

And so my question to you, beloved MyDD brethren (and sistren) is: did I go too far? And if so, how? Or did an admin over-react?

Follow me over the jump for more detail...

MyDD commitment gut-check

Hillary Clinton is a loyal Democrat. She will support the Dem nominee, even if it's not her.

Barak Obama is a loyar Democrat. He will support the Dem nominee, even if it's not him.

more reality check below the fold.

Do we REALLY want to give John McCain the Bomb?

One of the memes I hope catches on in coming months is Do we really want to give John McCain the Bomb?

Feel free to raise this question with friends, family, taxi driver, dentist, etc. A sizable minority of the Republican party is dissatisfied with the war, and that represents a serious opportunity for Dems.

Bill Clinton: caucus state residents don't need a president

Kos points out yet another Clinton insult to any Democrat who happens to live in a caucus state:
Of his wife's recent travails, he [Bill Clinton] said, "the caucuses aren't good for her. They disproportionately favor upper-income voters who, who, don't really need a president but feel like they need a change."
Now I don't need a president? I swear, I used to think that the Clintons were gifted politicians, but I don't see what they hope to gain by insulting large swaths of their own party. Can one of the Clinton supporters explain without hurling insults?
